BE INFORMED AND ACT FOR THE SAKE OF OUR CHILDREN

We stand for Limited Government, Fiscal Responsibility, Personal Responsibility, the Rule of Law, and National Sovereignty

I hope you all have had a chance to follow the link below.  First, The director of Britain’s leading Climate Research Unit, Phil Jones, has now confirmed that the emails from him and other CRU scientists are real.  It clearly shows that he and others manipulated climate data to mask facts that ran against their curves, omitting data that showed cooling trends.  It would be hard for me to see how any scientist could now bestow any creditability to CRU 's findings, which are the basis for most of the man made global warming alarmist movement.

If our government would even dare to go ahead with "Cap and Trade", if the face of such a revelation; then we know that they care nothing about this country's financial heath or the health of the earth, but rather are simply after the power to remake our nation into a European Style Socialist State.  This is something I have believed long before these current disclosures.  Mr. Gore, you need to find a new line of work!

Greetings to all the 75074 Patriots:

It was great to get settled into our new home, The Harrington Library Thelma Rice-Sproles Program Room.  The facility is very nice and well suited to a group of our size.  Before discussing the results of last nights meeting, I wanted to announce the meeting dates for the next three months:

 Gladys Harrington Library

Rice-Sproles Program Room

Tuesday December 15, 2009

Tuesday January 12, 2010

Tuesday February 9, 2010

These will be the only get-togethers before the March 3, 2010 Primary, so please come out and make yourself heard!  Also, please check out our neighborhood blog page:

The 75074 Neighborhood Group

This page will be updated frequently to bring you up to date on new committee actions, events, and projects; as well as reports on recent activities.

Minutes for Meeting 11/18/2009:

After being brought to order, the following question was put to the group for unanimous approval:  Can we make it group policy to open meetings with a non-sectarian prayer of invocation and "Pledge of Allegiance" ?  This question was passed by unanimous consent and the meeting was formally begun with both.  If any member, who was not in attendance, should have any issue with either, please email me with your concerns.  Pending no objections, all subsequent meetings will begin this way.

The only formal agenda consisted of reports from our three committees: Youth/Education, Membership, and Election Information.

Committee reports:

Youth/Education  ( Chairmen: Valery Berry, Sheryl Howieson, Barbara Morse )

Presenter:  Sheryl Howieson

School texts are rife with political correctness and revisionist history.  Texas is now in the final stages of adopting textbooks for the future.  Texas, because of it's relative prosperity and population will have a major impact on the content of texts, nation wide.  Unfortunately only one conservative is on the committee (out of 9).  Sheryl will be posting information on the neighborhood website (above) about the process.  ( handouts were given at the meeting )  The committee will be investigating how we might help influence this process, going forward.  Our representative on the State Board of Education is Geraldine Miller, phone 972-419-4000.

Membership   ( Chairmen:  Eileen Cunningham, Pam Worsham )

Presenter:  Pam and Eileen

The committee furnished proofs of business cards and flyers to be used in Membership recruitment.  The business cards offer contact information and a statement of our fundamental principals.  The flyers provide information on our meeting schedule and venue, as well as contact information.  Special thanks needs to be given to Neil Howieson for producing the proofs.  The group is being challenged to bring a guest to the next meeting, thus doubling our size.  (I encourage all of you to participate in this.  Let's fill up the hall in December!)

Election Information  ( Chairmen:  Pete Cunningham, Jim Scott )

Presenter:  Pete Cunningham

Primary season is nearly here. ( March 2, 2010 ).  We need help in gathering information on candidates.  ( anyone able to help in this, please reply to this mail ).  This is going to be a vital election and our greatest possible effect can be in the primaries, when we can be a large part of the turnout. ( generally only 5% of the electorate is involved in primaries ) We want to help elect good strong, conservative candidates; but perhaps more importantly, defeat weak or liberal ones.  It is our hope to attract candidates to our meetings to tell us face to face what they stand for.  In addition, anyone who knows someone, personally, running for office or wishes to run, themselves.  Please advise by return email.

General discussions:

Jim Scott presented two Rules for Conservative Radicals ( credit Michael Patrick Leahy)

1. It is better to be 85% right and quick than 100% right and slow.

2. Do what you can, right now, with the technologies, resources, and time immediately available to you.

This lead to a general discussion of the new media and social networking sites.

Dwayne Pedigo discussed his facebook postings and how they helped encourage conservative discussion and "flaming" libs.

Tom Lukers offered to help anyone with computer work (call: 972-423-4308, and indicate you are with the teaparty group).

Matt Bateman explained, as a Political Science Major, he was the only conservative in his class.  This led to a discussion on ways to attract more young people to our group.  Several ideas were kicked around, including trying to set up a meeting at CCCC and contacting the Young Republicans.  Matt was tasked with helping in this with our Youth/Education Committee.  ( editorial comment, I could not read Matt's last name on the roster and assumed Bateman since he came with Brad and Julie.  Please advise me via email if this is not correct)

Jennifer Vance requested help in defeating House Bill HR97, which she indicated with cripple the natural food industry.  She also suggested we study proper flag etiquette, and perhaps invite local Scout Troops to act a color guard at one of our subsequent meetings.

I, once again, encourage you all to join us in December!

75074 Friends and Patriots:

In case you missed it:  The Tea Party shot heard around the world!  Dede Scozzafava, the Republican party boss, ultra-liberal candidate for NY House seat 23 has dropped out of the race.  This is a major victory for all of us.  The Republicans, can you hear us Newt, are all now supporting Conservative Doug Hoffman.  This shows the power of our movement to truly change the party.  If Doug wins this race, it will rock the rafters.

Jim

The enclosed link is of a discussion I had with Newt at his book signing on Oct. 22.

The basis of my comments was Newt's unfathomable support of an ulta liberal in New York district 23 congressional race over a strict self proclaimed Regan conservative.

As I promised, I wanted to post the picture from the last meeting on this site.  Had to get some help on doing that and now have got things down, so here you are:

I must apologize to the eight people who came after I took the photo.  I will be more patient next time.

Was this great or what!!

I want to welcome you all to this site and would love to see you all use it.

I mentioned in one of my emails about the counter Move On protest.  Here is a link to some video of the event:
